Updates from Creswell Heritage Foundation

In the past month, Creswell Heritage Foundation (CHF) received three more grants toward the Foundation and Porch Floor Replacement Project, including $5,000 from the Chambers Foundation; $1,600 from the Lane County Cultural Coalition; and $2,400 from the CycleOregon fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. Proceeds go toward restoring the Creswell Old Schoolhouse.
The foundation also recently received six more grants toward the project, but the awards fell $15,000 short of the amounts requested. CHF President Verlean McCoy said they expect to make up the difference with donations of cash, materials and services.
“Happily, in December, we received about $1,500 in individual donations, ranging from $5 to $500,” McCoy said in an email. “It all adds up and every dollar is appreciated.”
With the funding received, CHF is proceeding with the project. Requests for Proposals have been sent to qualified contractors.
McCoy said they hope to award the contract by Feb. 1 for work to be done in the spring.
The materials and services we need are listed on www.creswellheritagefoundation.org. There is also a Donate button for a gift via PayPal. Donations may also be sent to us at P.O. Box 1092, Creswell, OR. 97426. More info: [email protected].
