Holidays kick off in Creswell on Dec. 1

This year’s 16th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration has expanded yet again to include more family, holiday and festive fun! Creswell’s old-fashioned celebration is the perfect venue to ring in the holiday season with your friends and neighbors, to marvel at the lighting of the trees on Oregon Avenue, sing carols, meet Santa and enjoy the hometown holiday season.
Breakfast With Santa put on by the Creswell Kiwanis Club will be held once again at Joe’s Diner, located at 230 E. Oregon Ave from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Last year, was the first Holiday Market for many years. The Market was a big success so the tradition continues again this year with longer hours. The Holiday Market runs from 10 a.m. till 7 p.m. at the Creswell Community Center located at 99 S. First St.
There will be 22 holiday vendors showcasing their craft-wares. There will be a great variety of crafters so make sure to grab your family and friends and support our local folks!
The Creswell Chamber of Commerce will be selling pizza, soda and bottled water during the event. The Chamber will also be selling homemade Christmas caramel apples and candied apples from the kitchen of the Community Center.
The Creswell Festival of Trees will be held for the second year. Festival of Trees moved to a new location, at the Creswell Grange, located at 298 Oregon Ave. Shelly Humble and the Creswell Girl Scouts, along with Patti Scott, are spearheading the fundraiser for the Creswell Library.
The Creswell Library will be busy during the celebration from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with children’s crafts and story time with Mrs. Claus.
The second annual Holiday Light Parade and Tree Lighting starts at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will run along Oregon Avenue from fifth to first street in downtown Creswell.
Live music at the Firehouse from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with the Tuba Ensemble and Creswell Community Singers performing holiday tunes.
Warm up with free hot chocolate at The Creswell Chamber office from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., located at 95 W. Oregon Ave.
Bring the kids to Creswell Dental Clinic from 5pm to 7pm. Dr. Greenwood and his staff will be offering face painting, balloon animals, temporary tattoos, and Christmas cookies and hot chocolate again this year year at Creswell Family Dental, located at 225 West Oregon Ave.
Santa will arrive at the Community Center at the end of the light parade! Plan to bring the family inside to see Santa out of the cold weather. Crafters and food will be available until Santa leaves around 7 p.m.
Lots of hard work is being put in to make the 16th annual Tree Lighting Celebration to biggest and best event yet. Please plan to attend.
