Jeanet and Daniel Campbell are upping the entertainment ante in Creswell, as they plan to open their new party and event gaming facility, Elite Game Spot, located at at 287 S. Front St. The Campbell’s facility is set to open in early July.
Kinks are all still being worked out, so a definite grand opening date has yet to be set, but the Campbell crew plans to be at the Creswell Fourth of July celebration, handing out coupons for a two-for-one deal to their new business.
The Campbells, both 34, have been wed for 16 years. They met when Jeanet needed a prom date, and Daniel decided to stick around, Jeanet said jokingly.
”We’re both business-minded people,” Jeanet said. ”The idea (to open a facility in Creswell) kind of just came to him one day, and we jumped in feet first. There’s a definite gaming culture happening now. We saw that there was a need for something like this in Creswell. ”
They have three kids; Asher, 13, Diaee, 10, and Gracen, 4, who attend Academy For Character Education in Cottage Grove. They’ve been residing in Creswell for the past year and half, and say they love what the community has to offer.
”We love the smalltown feel of Creswell,” Jeanet said. ”We love the Bean Hopper, and that there’s so many places for our kids to play in nature and explore; everything about this town is great.”
There are hundreds of games to play at this facility, and they’ve got all the consoles to boot.
With 12 55-inch televisions and online gaming capabilities, Elite Game Spot is stacked with completely up-to-date gaming systems including PlayStation 4, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch, Oculus and WiiU, as well as old school classic gaming consoles such as Nintendo Super NES and Sega Genesis. There are 20 individual gaming chairs and four couches that parents can enjoy while relaxing and enjoying family gaming time, Jeanet said.
There are two components to the building: a front gaming room in the front and a large gathering room in the back. The front room fits around 40 people comfortably and their large party room in the back can fit many more, Jeanet said. The party room also doubles as a multi-purpose room. It can be used to feed and entertain guests for birthday parties and other celebrations, and also doubles as a theater room, Jeanet said.
Elite Game Spot will offer hourly gaming, will be holding gaming tournaments, and will offer game room reservations.
”We plan to leave the plan open to see what the needs are in the community, what they want,” Jeanet said. ”We’ll feel it out as we go; if there’s more of a need for tournaments, for longer hours, we’ll accommodate to fit the need.”
Elite Game Spot is all about the experience and about atmosphere, Jeanet said.
”When you walk into the building, the facility definitely has a feel to it,” Jeanet said.
”You can watch tv at home, or go to the movies to enjoy the experience,” Jeanet said. ”It’s just like being at home playing video games. You get to go out and have a fun experience in a unique atmosphere.”
