Last weekend, Creswell Faith Center at 755 S. Front St. hosted their first Show & Shine Car Show. This new event welcomed community members and people from the surrounding areas of Eugene, Springfield and Cottage Grove. Show & Shine was an opportunity for owners and individuals interested in muscle, antique and vintage cars, to come together, converse and enjoy one another’s company on a nice summer day.
There was no charge to attend or take part in Show & Shine, and free refreshments and hot dogs were available for all who stopped by. Several members of The Creswell Faith Center Church Worship Team even performed live music for congregation members and participants throughout the day.
Vehicles dated back to the late 1930s, though there were no awards given out at the event; they simply welcomed vehicles of any time period and dollar amount. Show & Shines isn’t about competition; they’re about making new friends and discussing commonalities.
For those who missed out on this get-together, another Show & Shine will take place at Delight Valley Church of Christ in Cottage Grove from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 25. Free BBQ will be available and hot rods, trucks, motorcycles, tractors and bikes will be there in all their sparkling metallic glory.
With the success of the first Show & Shine, Creswell Faith Center hopes to make this an annual event.
