Creswell VFW Post #4039 has received a grant to install vinyl flooring, with the VFW Cross of Malta insignia, in the entry of the post on South 10th Street. The grant was one of 24 awarded this year by the Three Rivers Foundation to nonprofit organizations in southwest Oregon.
On Feb. 22, Post Commander Tony Jaques and Jr. Vice Commander Bob Beck went to Florence to receive the grant from Chief Warren Brainard, Chief of the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians and a Trustee for the Foundation.
The Three Rivers Foundation was established in 2011 to serve as the charitable giving arm of the Confederated Tribes and the Three Rivers Casino and Hotel. The Three Rivers Foundation exists to improve, enrich and enhance the health and welfare of the land and people of the historic homelands of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw people.
The flooring will be installed during the spring or early summer this year.
