About This Event
Eleven local artists from Cottage Grove are entered in the Cottage Grove Suitcase Art Show. All competing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place with cash and gift prizes for the winners. Mayor Candace Solesbee will pick the Mayor’s Certificate Award, Chief of Police Cory Chase the Chief of Police Award and the Chamber of Commerce will pick their favorite suitcase art.

The theme of the show is scenes from Cottage Grove and Lane County. The decorated and painted suitcase art will be displayed at Schweitzer’s Work and Western Wear 730 E. Main, Cottage Grove, OR from June 26th until July 22nd.
The western and work wear store is open Tuesday through Sat. from 9:30AM to 5:30PM. This is the 3rd year for the suitcase art show which is a prelude to Bohemia Mining Days event.
Loriana J. one of the winners from last year’s show is depicted in the photo. She has entered this year by painting on a metal art box a covered bridge. Her art is titled, Centennial Bridge. ”She has her own style of art and has been showing her art the last few years. Glenda said, “No doubt you will see more of Loriana’s art in other art shows.”
This is one unique art show you won’t want to miss this summer. Besides the show the decorated and painted totes, suitcases and trunks make great gifts for yourself and for your friends and family.
