We all love our bling strings, but what do we know about what goes into them? Let’s look at the major types of beads and distribution of finds in the 400 – 900 CE timeframe. Some fascinating research on glass furnaces and bead making techniques has come up in the past decade, and we’ll also look at how some of the most iconic beads may have been crafted.
