Calling all current and future youth fighters! At this event, our current Youth Armored Combat (YAC) marshals will communicate requirements as well as teach how to make a YAC sword! A list of materials will be shared below so you can come fully prepared to make your own legal fighting sword to take home! YAC is for youth ages 6-17 with a parent of guardian present. For more information on YAC in An Tir, the handbook is available on the kingdom website, here: https://antirsca.sharepoint.com/sites/library/Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?id=/sites/library/Documents/Marshallate Public Web Documents/Youth/AnTir_Book_of_Youth_Combat.pdf&parent=/sites/library/Documents/Marshallate Public Web Documents/Youth&p=true&ga=1

-3/4 or 1” HDPE pipe (Sil-o-flex or PEX), length of desired sword
-At least 1/2’ thick closed cell foam for wrapping sword (ie pipe insulation or pool noodles) **Note – get about an extra 2 feet to allow for thrusting tip and cross guard**
-Green electrical tape
-2 contrasting colors of duct tape to wrap, NOT red or green
-3/4” or 1” PVC pipe caps (match your HDPE pipe size) – X2

At the hardware store, PEX comes in a 5’ stick that’s already straight. If you cut to length, it will come off a roll and have a curve in it. The foam will come in 6’ lengths.

Optionals
-Baseball bat grip tape – highly recommended
-Sheet of closed cell foam rather than tube for thrusting tip.
-Extra pipe may be used for a cross guard.
