Lane Transit District (LTD) is cutting fares by up to 50% with “Dollar Days of Summer,” from July 1 through Aug. 31. LTD’s fares are being reduced by up to 50%, with $1 adult single rides and $2 day passes. The discount will also apply to other fares and LTD services.
LTD’s Board of Directors approved the fare promotion on May 20 to reduce barriers to accessing public transportation and increase summer ridership, a period when the District experiences a seasonal decline.
“Nearly half the households in Lane County already live with little margin for unexpected costs. When everyday expenses rise, this is a serious strain on working families,” said Alma Fumiko Hesus, president and CEO of United Way of Lane County. “Public transit helps manage those pressures without losing access to jobs, education, or healthcare.”
From local events and farmers’ markets to parks and libraries, LTD’s bus system provides access to a wide range of activities throughout Lane County.
“Affordable transportation matters more than ever. This is a simple way for people to save money and try a different option,” said Jameson Auten, LTD’s chief executive officer. “The bus may not be something you need every day, but it’s a critical resource that keeps our community connected and resilient.”
