This Oregon Board of Dentistry approved course provides hands-on clinical training in dental radiography to prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to take the Dental Assisting National Board Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam.
Course Details: The program fee is $1,250. Applicants must be currently employed in a dental office located in Oregon. No prior dental assisting experience is required; however, students must have access to a computer and a stable internet connection to complete the online coursework.
This comprehensive program includes 30 hours of self-paced online coursework and 16 hours of in-person clinical lab instruction held across two Fridays. Part One consists of 10 self-paced online modules that must be completed prior to attending the in-person labs. Part Two includes hands-on clinical training designed to prepare students for radiologic proficiency requirements.
Students must successfully complete both portions of the program to receive the Oregon Credential Certificate in Radiologic Proficiency, which is required to apply for the Dental Assisting National Board Radiation Health & Safety (RHS) examination.
Online coursework begins on 6/1, with in-person lab dates scheduled for 6/19 and 6/26.
