SPRINGFIELD – Residents already thrilled to have the nation’s No. 1 college football team in their backyard are now looking forward to having the NFL’s Monday Night Football game on Dec. 9 played in Springfield. What a season for area football fans.
And Simpsons fans.
While details are still being worked out for the “Officially Unofficial Watch-O-Rama Prime Time Party” at Prime Time Sports Bar & Grill, 1360 Mohawk Blvd., it’s time to save the date and make plans to attend the first-ever NFL game “in Springfield.”
Local Simpsons and NFL experts will be watching the game with fans at Prime Time amid numerous festivities, raffles, trivia, and more. The special event is scheduled for 5-9 p.m.
“This is going to be amazing,” said Chris Rohaley, an Artertainer, Artist, Author, and Artrepreneur best known as “Chris 51.” Not only will one of the world’s top tattoo artists be raffling off free Simpsons tattoos, Chris51 will serve as the emcee for the evening.
“We’re going to have a great time watching football, celebrating all things Simpsons, playing games and trivia, and raising money for nonprofits that help the community. It’s a win all the way around,” he said.
Roharley created and cast the A&E show Epic Ink, and created the Geeksterink Legends Comic con Tattoo Tour, the biggest of its kind in the world.
Roharley work’s tattoo shop – featured in the A&E television series is located at 3585 Main St.
ESPN, Disney, the Simpsons, and the NFL will premiere The Simpsons Funday Football on Monday, Dec. 9, an animated Monday Night Football game transformed in real-time into the iconic Simpsons “Springfield” using Sony’s Beyond Sports Technology.
Atoms Stadium in Springfield will host the fully immersive fan viewing experience featuring the Cincinnati Bengals at the Dallas Cowboys, ESPN’s Monday Night Football game that evening.
The legendary Simpsons creators have collaborated on the look, sound and feel with ESPN and the NFL to ensure the authenticity of the longest running primetime scripted series with more than 750 episodes.
The alternative version of MNF will stream on Disney+ and ESPN+, and, on mobile, with NFL+. The traditional Monday Night Football telecast will be available on ESPN, ABC and ESPN Deportes. All telecasts will begin at 5 p.m.
