CRESWELL – The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) will present Creswell High School athletic director Brandon Standridge with the Quality Program Recognition award during a ceremony Dec. 15 in Austin, Texas.
The NIAAA’s initiation of its Quality Program Assessment identified Creswell High School’s athletic program for achieving an “Exemplary Level” within its Quality Program Recognition.
“We are really excited to be among the 24 schools throughout the nation to earn this award,” Standridge said. “We are the second school in the state of Oregon ever to be designated a Quality Program, and it’s a testament to our student-athletes, trainer, coaches, staff, and community working together.”
To apply, an applicant must have multiple, evidence-based requirements: Be a member of the NIAAA and state Athletic Administrator Association, obtain Certified Administrative Assistants (CAA) designation, and complete LTC 799 (training course).
“I started the process with an online class in July 2023 and finished up submitting over 250 documents that were graded by two blind judges with an 80% minimum grade required in April of 2024,” Standridge said. “The process was long and difficult, but I wanted to showcase all of the things that we were doing well while evaluating our department for things we can improve on.
“Some of the documents that I had to provide we weren’t doing yet, but have since implemented them, which has only strengthened our department and ability to help grow our student-athletes. We look forward to this upcoming year as we continue improving on what we are doing at Creswell and keep growing as an athletic department.”
