Last week I learned sad news that we have lost another community leader, Al January, of Creswell.
I got to know Al several years ago through the Humane Society of Cottage Grove. Later, I worked with Al regarding the carousel in the Creswell parade, as well as other civic events. I so enjoyed talking to him about restoring old vehicles. He was a definite asset to the governing body of the Humane Society of Cottage Grove and his love for pets.
Fortunately, I had a conversation with Al some months ago while he was helping with a fundraising sale at the Humane Society. It was a pleasure knowing this man.
