As many Creswell residents have undoubtedly noticed, Joe’s Diner, a staple of Creswell dining, has a For Sale sign in its window. Those concerned about losing their favorite spot to eat, talk and relax can breathe easy, for the beloved restaurant shall live on.
Currently owned by Bob and Bonnie Britt, Joe’s Diner is in the process of being sold to Delilah Garrison and Mechelle Clough. Garrison originally grew up in Creswell but moved to Junction City. She’s been back in The Friendly City for about six months and is ”excited and anxious for the new journey.” She said she has always wanted to own her own restaurant, and soon, that dream will come true. Clough also grew up in Creswell. Clough grew up in Creswell. She left for 11 years and owned Jimmy Lane Deli in Springfield. She later sold the business and moved back to her hometown to buy a horse-boarding facility. It’s been a dream of hers to one day own a restaurant in Creswell, and is excited for the opportunity.
Bob and Bonnie will continue to live in Creswell as they enjoy retirement after Joe’s Diner changes hands and are happy to leave their restaurant with someone who will continue the legacy. The Britts have owned Joe’s Diner for the last three years and have enjoyed their time serving and getting to know the people of Creswell.
”[Creswell] is a great community,” said Bob Britt, looking back on his time as the restaurant’s owner and getting to know his customers on a personal level.
Joe’s Diner will continue to offer the same hours, atmosphere and experiences that loyal customers know and love. All the favorite entrees on the menu and the friendly staff will also remain the same.
Joe’s Diner may change ownership, but Creswell can sleep well knowing that everything else will remain the same.
