Creswell City Council this month determined their top and bottom legislative priorities for 2019 and submitted their rankings to the League of Oregon Cities (LOC).
Council participated as a survey, which highlights several legislative objectives spanning a variety of issues, as a means for LOC to, ”Prioritize objectives and to ensure the legislative efforts are focused where they are most needed.”
As their top four legislative priorities, city council chose infrastructure and finance; Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) reform; PERS unfunded liability revenue stream dedication; and property tax reform.
On the opposite end, council chose broadband infrastructure; carbon cap-and-reinvest program adoption; city compatibility for compensation; and speed cameras as the City’s bottom four legislative priorities.
LOC directors will collect the survey, review the results and, along with the recommendations of the policy committees, determine the LOC’s 2019 legislative agenda.
