Sharon “Shari” Rose Hiatt, 84, a longtime resident of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13. She was born in Eugene in 1937 to John and Miriam Richardson. Shari graduated from Springfield High School and loved calling Springfield home.
She is survived by her four children David, Steven, Cynthia and Mark, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her sister Kay.
A mother, homemaker, cosmetologist and real estate agent, Shari’s interests included gardening and traveling with family and friends, especially to her favorite spot on the coast.
Shari was also active in the community she loved. She worked on the Springfield Planning Commission and was a former president and outstanding member of the JC Ettes as well as a longtime member of Parents Without Partners.
Shari loved laughing with her lifelong circle of close friends and sharing the joys of life with the neighborhood children who were very special to her.
A memorial service was held at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
