Beverly Corolyn Traxler Taylor
Beverly Taylor passed away quietly on Feb. 25.
She was a descendant of Oregon pioneer, Cyrus Shepard, who arrived in the Willamette Valley in 1834. Born on Aug. 30, 1924, she was the oldest daughter of Harold and Corolyn Traxler.
Beverly was very close to her two sisters, to the bane of many a teacher, especially the music teacher when he discovered a switch had been made and his violinist could no longer play.
Beverly lived her entire life in Creswell and graduated from Creswell High School in 1942. After high school, she worked as a secretary in the insurance business until she married her high school sweetheart, Calvin (Cal) Taylor, on May 5, 1945, a bond which lasted the rest of her life.
Cal and Bev operated the family business, HN Traxler Real Estate in Creswell, until their retirement. Together, they raised four children, Calvin H. of Creswell; Jerry (Debi), of Bozeman, Montana; JoAnne (Jerry Fletcher); of Redmond, Oregon; and Bobby (Julie) of Eugene; and have seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Bev was a filbert picker extraordinaire who enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and especially many family trips to the old Traxler cabin on Heceta Beach.
She lived a quiet, behind-the-scenes life in the community she valued, but was the consummate family caretaker, with the family she loved taking first priority in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Barbara Jo and Bobbie.
In character with her quiet life, she requested no memorial be held. The family will celebrate her life privately this summer, on her favorite bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, where she will watch the sunsets for eternity.
