Shirley Ann DeLess (nee Fandrem) passed peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 26, 2021. She was born in Springfield, Ore. to Orville and Hattie Fandrem on May 28, 1930.
She grew up in the Eugene/Springfield area, graduating from Eugene High School in 1948. She married Dale DeLess on April 30, 1949.
They had three children. She was a wonderful stay-at-home Mom and gave her three kids a great childhood filled with outdoors, imagination, music and dancing.
Dale and Shirley traveled to Puerto Rico, Mexico and Hawaii twice. They loved camping in their motorhome, especially at the coast. After Dale passed in 1993, she went on to her “second life” and bought a new home on East Amazon, where she lived for the next 27 years.
She is survived by her three children: Russell (Bobbie) DeLess, Penny (Mitch) McGee and Christy (Milt) Dalton, five grandsons: Christopher, Brian, Dustin, Chad and Scott, and eight great-grandchildren.
A Family Celebration of Life gathering will be held this fall. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Greenhill Animal Shelter.
