Kenneth Lee Price: Sept. 25, 1952 – July 21, 2021

Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Price, 68, of Cottage Grove passed away July 21, 2021.

Kenny was born Sept. 25, 1952, in Camp Roberts, Calif. to parents Raymond and Joyce (Beard) Price. After high school, Kenny joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He worked as an operating engineer (heavy equipment) until his retirement.

Kenny was a dedicated, loving father and grandfather. From the moment of his granddaughter Beverly’s birth his greatest passion was loving and caring for her.

Kenny spent much of his youth on his grandparents’ cattle ranch and was an animal lover and cowboy. He owned and loved several cattle dogs over the years with the most recent one being his beloved Maxie. Kenny was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as gardening and feeding the doves and hummingbirds in his yard.

From an early age he liked to cook and bake. Just last year he made banana pineapple jam from his grandma’s recipe. Kenny made great friends with his neighbors. They traded cookies, compared tomato growing techniques, and all looked out for each other. After Kenny’s passing these friends have expressed a deep fondness for Kenny to the family.

Kenny is survived by daughter Rebecca Lee Hernandez Price and granddaughter Beverly Rose Parrish; sister Patti Mitchell of Fremont, Calif.; and sister Debra Stafford of Alvord, Texas. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Service arrangements are pending.
