Barbara Lowry: April 1, 1941 – May 5, 2021

Barbara Ann Lowry, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long-fought battle with cancer on May 5, 2021. She is survived by her husband Michael Lowry, three children Nathan Lowry, Michelle Yandell, Janell Miller and five grandchildren.

Barbara was born on April 1, 1941 and raised in Turlock, Calif. until moving in her teens to Washington and later returning to California to finish school. She was the youngest of three children and graduated from Weed High School in northern California.

Barbara attended the University of Hawaii and the College of the Siskiyous where she met her husband, Michael. They were married at her parents’ home in Weed and honeymooned on their way to Canada where they made their home for several years.

Barbara and Michael homesteaded in Quesnel, Canada in the outlying area of the Black Water River ranching and river guiding fishermen. Upon their return to Oregon in the fall of 1964 they made home in Pleasant Hill, Florence and Coburg, where they have now resided for over 35 years. Over the years they raised three wonderful children, son Nathan and daughters Michelle and Janell.

Barbara was of a kind and selfless nature, always willing and pleased to place anyone’s needs ahead of her own. A lover of crafts, animals and children, she is adored by many and will be sorely missed. Her resilience, wisdom and charm brought heart, confidence and great pride to all who had the opportunity to be graced by knowing her.

From her loving husband, Michael.
