Charlotte Booher: Sept. 23, 1925 – March 23, 2021

Charlotte Rose Booher was born Sept. 23, 1925. She passed away March 23, 2021 of natural causes at Magnolia Gardens Memory Care facility. 

She was 95. 

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents A.B & Myrtle Towns, her husband of 61 years Bill Booher, her son Roger Booher, her brothers, Bob, Wally, Morris and Harold Towns, and her sister Bernita Towns. 

She is survived by her sisters Mary Eaton & Shirley Burr, her daughters Shara Davis and her husband Dennis, Rhonda Zosel and her husband Patrick, her son Richard and his partner Sally Bruggeman, daughter-in-law Bonnie Booher, 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 12 great-grandchildren. Charlotte was born and raised in Palco, Kan. 

She graduated from Palco High School and attended Fort Hays State College. In 1944, she met Bill and graduated from the U.S. Army Air Traffic Controller training program. She taught school in Palco until 1946 when she moved to Oregon. She and Bill married Aug. 17, 1946. 

Charlotte taught school in Curtin & Cottage Grove until the birth of her first daughter. After 4 children she returned to work as a secretary for the Curtin School and Drain High School. In 1972 she was hired as secretary for the superintendent of the Drain School District. She retired in 1980 after 8 years. 

Charlotte enjoyed sewing, embroidery and crochet work as well as cooking, baking, fishing, hunting and camping. Charlotte especially loved her family, taking great delight in her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. 

She attended the Living Faith Church and was a resident of Cottage Grove for 42 years. 

A celebration of life was held Friday, April 2, 2021 at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, 123 S. 7th St., Cottage Grove, OR 97424. Interment at Comstock Cemetery, Curtin, Ore.
