Vacant tents off Cloverdale to be removed

CRESWELL – Residents have voiced concern around bright orange tents across the undeveloped property across from BiMart on Melton Rd.

Lane County Sgt. Scott Denham said it is not a homeless camp, but vacant tents pitched by one person.

“A local Creswell transient purchased them at BiMart due to some instructions he believes he received from ‘above,’” Denham said, citing mental health issues. “The tents are vacant, as he has a place to stay.” Denham said LCSO is working with the person’s sister to assist him as a disabled veteran.

Police have been in contact with property owners, who plan to remove the tents.
