Friday, March 20, 2020 was unlike any other day in Springfield up to that point.
Streets were eerily quiet and businesses were either shuttered or providing to-go services.
Above, evidence that the new reality effects people across the spectrum as two people enjoy a take-out lunch on the steps of the Springfield-area Chamber of Commerce building.
Mayor Christina Lundberg declared a ”State of Emergency” on March 16.
Officials with Travel Lane County, the promotional arm for the county’s Chambers of Commerce, will adjust its messaging on social media by offering inspirational imagery from throughout the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region. It will reinfrorce the message that now is not the time to travel outside the local area.
