Creswell Chamber postpones yard sale, cancels luncheons

CRESWELL – The Creswell Chamber of Commerce leadership team issues a statement Tuesday afternoon regarding its monthly luncheons for business leaders and the citywide yard sale, held annually on Mother’s Day weekend in May.
Here is the full text of the statement, issued by board president Raina Napper:

As the situation around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, the health and wellness of our community is our first priority. This is an uneasy time for all. We are following the recommendations from the public health authorities (state, federal, and the center for disease control).
We encourage everyone to follow the current guidelines for the limitations of public gatherings.
At this time we are canceling the chamber monthly luncheons until further notice from public health authorities.
We will be evaluating annual events, and making determinations on moving forward with these events.
To prevent the large gathering of people from a wide area, the citywide yard sale is postponed. A new date will be proposed when the situation becomes clearer.
Please watch for emails as new information is released regarding the annual banquet and Fourth of July events.
