William Ferrell ”Bill” Bryant – March 26, 1931 – Jan. 14, 2020

William Ferrell ”Bill” Bryant, 88, of Creswell, Oregon, passed away on Jan. 14, 2020.
He was born on March 26, 1931 in Visalia, Calif., to parents Roy H. and Martha (Duncan) Bryant.
Bill graduated from Creswell High School in 1949 and served in the United States Army. He married Peggy Jean Beverly on Feb. 2, 1952 in High Point, N.C.
Bill worked for the University of Oregon for 38.5 years as the head labor coordinator. Bill loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He grew more than a half-acre of dahlias and sunflowers that were taller than his home. He was maintenance staff for his church, an umpire for little league and played on a men’s baseball team.
Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Creswell, a member of the Dahlia Club, a board member for U-Lane-O Credit Union and served with Food for Lane County in Creswell. Bill and Peg fed the community during Thanksgiving and Christmas and received awards as Creswell’s Citizens of the Year.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Peggy Bryant of Creswell; daughter Linda Phillips and husband John of Chiloquin, Oregon; son Tim Bryant and wife Nancy of Maple Valley, Washington; daughter Robin Bryant-Van Horn of Bend, Oregon; sister Barbara Flaherty of Olivehurst, California; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and two great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church in Creswell. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
