Emerald Valley Salon: Same digs, new name, owner

CRESWELL – Patricia Cook first walked into Platinum Hair Salon six years ago to get a manicure and walked out with a styling chair and a job. Now, the whole business is in her name. The former Platinum Salon on Dale Kuni Road has a new owner and a new name.
Cindy Gifford, the former owner of the salon, sold the business to Cook in December, and it has since been rebranded as Emerald Valley Salon – a fitting name for its location at Emerald Valley Golf & Resort.
Cook said she’s always had a knack for management. She’s been a beautician since she got out of high school and has held several managerial positions throughout her career. This move into ownership felt like the perfect next step, Cook said.
Gifford owned the business for over 11 years. She has been living in California for the past five years while John Moore managed the salon. After Moore’s passing on Nov. 5, 2019, Gifford decided to ”pass the baton” to longtime Platinum Hair beautician Cook.
The salon uses the same phone number and is in the same location as the former salon. Former Platinum beautician Danielle Pindell is still on board, along with beauticians Tauschia Arneson and Shayla Bowen.
The business is located at 600 Dale Kuni Road, Suite 150 in Creswell and can be reached at 541-895-3965.
