A couple strolls by one of the most well-known murals, installed by the Old City Artists in 2014, depicting Matt Groening’s epic Simpsons characters. This is only one of many murals throughout the city that spotlights Springfield’s unique history and personality. Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to noon, visitors can take part in a guided walking tour of 20 downtown murals, beginning at Springfield City Hall’s Fountain Plaza (225 5th St.) This tour is coordinated by the Springfield Arts Commission and Lane Arts Council, and is sponsored by Plank Town Brewing Co.l, The Washburne Cafe, and Main Street Market (Friendly St. Market).
