MARTHA ANTONIA MORALES CANTORAN – MAY 9, 1973 – JAN. 19, 2019

Martha Antonia Morales Cantoran, 45, passed away peacefully Jan. 19, 2019 due to stage three gastric cancer. She was born May 9, 1973 in Cuayuca, Puebla to Arista Sosa and Refugio Cantoran. She eloped and married her longtime friend and love, Victor Morales, in April of 1991.
Martha loved to care for people. She was always in the kitchen cooking for her family and loved ones. Her hands were rarely still. Pepian with tamales de frijole was her favorite to cook, because they are Victor’s favorite. She also shared her love of gardening; the backyard was always full of fruits and vegetables. She always knew fresh is best.
For many years, Martha worked at Western Shelter Systems in Eugene. It suited her servant heart. She said she did it because heroes need protecting too. She sewed firefighter clothing and folded the tents they used for housing.
Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – ”And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Martha is survived by her kids, Jonathan Victor Morales, Jessica Morales and Stephanie Corona-Morales; brothers Aurelio Cantoran, Ernestino Cantoran, Federico Marin and Efren Cantoran; sisters Maria Elena Cantoran, Valentina Cantoran, Rocio Marin, Genia Cantoran; grandchildren, Giovanni Corona-Morales, and one due in June. All of them she loved and touched deeply.
A service was held on Jan. 26, 2019.
