Loveall: Lane County native ‘brings people together’
I was born and raised in Lane County. Right after graduating I joined the Navy for six years. My wife and I moved back to Springfield after my military service and this is where we chose to raise a family and start a commercial advertising photography business.
In 2008, I founded Masaka Properties, using my life savings to purchase the Washburne Building downtown. I believed our downtown could be better, but it was going to take more than what city government could do. We needed citizens to step up, so I did. With the help of a team of community members, I have moved down the block, renovating buildings, creating spaces for small entrepreneurs to follow their dreams, and adding much-needed housing units to our downtown core.
I know how to bring people together to achieve extraordinary results, and I believe this is exactly what our county needs. Over the past few years, the Lane County Commissioners have chosen to focus on Eugene-centric things that ignores the values and potential of Springfield.
In Springfield, we know the value of investing in public safety. As your commissioner, I will take that value county wide. We also know the power of focusing on common sense solutions, not ideologically driven statements. We need a Commissioner who will push back on the federal government to responsibly harvest our timber, so we will have the funds to invest in core county services. We also believe in accountability, and I will push to make sure that agencies dealing with homelessness and mental health will provide the results our community desperately needs, not just wring their hands with little to show for it.
Springfield deserves better. Lane County deserves better. Together we can create a vibrant, functioning County. I am asking for your vote.
