Through the Eyes of the Colonel – Beautiful ranch, fast cars

After all the years we have lived here, we never had visited the Dorris Ranch.
It is so easy to get there. The ranch is just south of Springfield, right alongside the river, and there is so much to see; stately trees, quaint old buildings, and 258 acres of land that is well-developed and taken care of.
I won’t go into detail – just go see for yourself. We are going back soon.
Another interesting activity is the monthly car show in the Bi-Mart parking lot. The show is held on the first Saturday over every month from May through fall. Show cars start arriving around 7 and stay till 10 a.m. Old cars, antiques, new cars, shiny cars and cars that are being restored are all worth looking at and and talking about with owners. They delight in talking about their cars’ history and their rebuilding efforts.
We always get refreshments at Blue Valley Bistro and have the opportunity to visit with friends while viewing the cars.
