Lowell’s Nate Roat won the boys’ pole vault Thursday at the State 1A track meet.
Roat ended up tied for first, so a jump-off was held which he won with a 12-6 clearance.
Also scoring for the Red Devils was Thomas Ward, who was seventh in the discus (117-10) and eighth in the shot put (40-9 1/2), with his final throw moving him from ninth and onto the medal stand.
Freshmen Katie Chapman and Audra Chapman scored Lowell’s points in the girls’ events with Audra Chapman sixth in the pole vault (7-4 /14) and Katie Chapman seventh in the 3000m (11:56.52) and fifth in the 800m (2:32.47).
