I don't mind paying my taxes, as long as they money is used for better government, police protection, government administration, and other necessary things to keep us safe and maintain our democratic way of life.

What I object to is when our taxes are used for donations to charities, and other non-profit governmental activities.

I donate to many needy charities and activities, and that is my choice and, yes, I do get credit on my tax return for those things, but I don't donate for that reason.

I want to make the charitable choice myself, not have the City do it for me.
