Through the Eyes of the Colonel: On-demand movies, PBS provide options

I realize that the programs on commercial TV are paid for by corporations that advertise to sell their products.

The programs now on prime time sure have changed. Sensationalism, mayhem, sexual content, etc. seem to fill the programming, which ultimately is paid for by the age group of the public that is willing to part with their funds.

I miss programs that were family oriented, such as: Happy Days, All in the Family, Laverne & Shirley and similar "schmaltzy" programs.

We do enjoy lots of PBS programming with travel, history, documentaries and Brit-coms. Plus, we like the limited nu...
