Harvest Moon Benefit Concert is Sept. 22

Do you know what the Harvest Moon is and how it got its name?

The full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox gets this title, usually by being the September Full moon.

Due to the equinox, the moonrise comes soon after the sunset giving an abundance of light as an aide to farmers and crews harvesting their summer crops, hence the "Harvest" moon!

This year the Equinox will be happening at 6:54 pm, Sept. 22, just minutes before the start of the Harvest Moon Benefit Concert, even though technically we will have to wait two more days for the actual full "Harvest" moon!
