Dr. Richard "Dick" Page shows the volunteers how to attach a spar (a strong pole) to the sail of a kite during Kite Day with Dr. Page on July 11. Dr. Page, who has been teaching how to make kites at the Creswell Library for over 10 years, chose the guitar shape to go with the Summer Reading Programs current "rock" theme.

Children and parents make their way around the tables as they complete each step in the process of making a kite during Kite Day with Dr. Page in the Creswell Library's backyard. Roughly 40 children and 20 parents showed up for the event.
