Creswell is fortunate

Dear Editor,

Richard Zettervall is running for mayor of Creswell this coming Nov. 6 election.
I couldn’t be more delighted.
Richard has proven his leadership, expertise and commitment over the past several years on the Creswell City Council. Richard was unanimously elected by his fellow councilors to be the 2017 and 2018 council president, which requires him to stand in for the mayor as needed.
He has chaired the city’s Public Safety Committee, organized the city’s first and highly successful Emergency Preparedness Fair, worked with the Creswell School Board members, East Lane County Commissioner Williams, and local businesses and community members to put street lights on Niblock Lane where school children previously had to walk the shoulders of a dark street, and has served on many other committees and projects.
Recently retired, Richard could be out traveling, relaxing, and crossing things off his bucket list. Instead, as his past efforts on the City Council have shown, he is willing to serve our city with expertise, time and leadership. The city of Creswell will be the better for it. Let’s elect Richard to be our next mayor.
