Sex crime cases make way through court

The cases of two Creswell men have made their way through the court system, after being charged with a variety of sex crimes earlier this year.
Dustin Lee Stephens, 31, of Creswell, was arrested on March 8 for numerous sex abuse charges. He was charged with Display Child Sexual Conduct (Felony); Encourage Child Sex Abuse First Degree (Felony); Sexual Penetration First Degree (Felony); Rape Second Degree (Felony); Rape Second Degree (Felony); and Sex Abuse First Degree (Felony).
Stephens is currently being lodged at Lane County Jail.
Trial for Stephens is set for November 2018.
Dominic Alexander Hughes, 20, was arrested on April 4 as a result of an investigation following the arrest of Stephens. He was charged with four counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree (Felony). Hughes made bail on a $350,000 security by posting $35,000, Lane County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Scott Denham said, and was given a No Contact Order for the victims involved.
Trial for Hughes is set for September 2018.
These cases are being handled through Lane County Circuit Court, and the investigations are still ongoing.
