Man shot while walking along Main Street in Springfield

Springfield police are investigating the report of a gunshot victim who presented to the clerk at the 7-Eleven Store at 1396 Main St. in Springfield today at just before 4 p.m.
The 45-year-old Mount Angel man, who was bleeding from a non-life threatening puncture wound to the right upper torso, reported he had been walking southbound on 14th Street just before the intersection with Main Street when he said he was shot by a passenger in a black late-model sedan occupied by three men. The victim said the man who shot him yelled at him prior to the shooting.
Police have yet to identify any witnesses to the alleged shooting, which reportedly occurred at a busy intersection during the afternoon commute.
Springfield police are asking that anyone who has information about this shooting to call
the Springfield Police Department at 541-726-3714.
