Come out and have a day full of shopping and help raise money for the Swinging Bridge. Find Dad that one-of-a-kind Father’s Day gift and explore a wide variety of products and services offered by local entrepreneurs.
Doors open at 10 a.m. There will be several food trucks there including the Big Bites food truck serving up some delicious grub. 7th Street by the Armory will be closed down for a street dance party starting at noon, with the highly danceable Rockin’ Reveleers and tunes spun by DJ Diva Kat.
The Friends of the Cottage Grove Swinging Bridge will be there with the swinging bridge rope walk for kids as well as information on helping save our bridge. There will be raffles for great prizes as well as a 50/50 cash prize raffle, a delectable bake sale and much more.
Through these various activities funds will be generated to go into the City trust fund dedicated to repairing the Swinging Bridge in Cottage Grove. The vendors will all be donating a portion of their sales towards the Swinging Bridge as well.
The South Lane Women’s Network is an organization created by two women, Co-Founders Kristine Sweezy and Skye Hefner. SLWN has as their mission and goal to focus on and support local women business owners. They joined forces to help empower and encourage local women in business and to network and help promote and support each other’s businesses.
An important aspect of the network is regular social gatherings at local eateries and venues to have some fun and to share news of upcoming events, to educate, share successes and create a support system.
“We want to create a community full of support and strength for Cottage Grove and the surrounding area for women who own a business,” the co-founders say. “We are dedicated to helping to support and uplift each other, teach and learn. Women are strong and can empower each other to take the next step in business as well as in everyday life.”
So please come out for the fun and fellowship, do some shopping and bring anything you can spare to help the bridge. Hope to see you, and all of the surrounding community at this event, Swing the Bridge!
