The Oregon Hunters Association’s local Emerald Valley Chapter will host OHA’s 35th Anniversary State Convention on May 12 at Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville. The evening event features a gourmet buffet, raffles and auctions.
Tickets must be ordered by May 4 by visiting oregonhunters.org/events or calling OHA at 541-772-7313.
The auctions will feature more than 100 items, including an Oregon Access & Habitat Statewide Deer & Elk Combo Hunt good for a four-month season nearly anywhere in Oregon, and an eight-month LOP Melrose any-elk hunt on Seneca Jones property. Hunters interested in these two hunts may bid in person or call OHA in advance to make arrangements to bid by phone.
Guests can also bid on Oregon bird and varmints hunts, or safaris in Africa and Argentina. Other auction items include getaways in Oregon, Hawaii and the Caribbean, as well as art and sporting goods.
Raffles offer more than 50 firearms and a chance to win a guided bull elk hunt on The Nature Conservancy’s Zumwalt Prairie Preserve in 2019.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will sell raffle tickets and draw the winners for 12 dream hunts for deer, elk, antelope, bighorn sheep and mountain goat. Proceeds benefit wildlife, habitat and public hunting access projects in Oregon.
OHA (oregonhunters.org) is the state’s largest Oregon-based pro-hunting organization, with 10,000 members and 26 chapters statewide. Its mission is ”protecting Oregon’s wildlife, habitat and hunting heritage.”
