Katie Chapman’s three PRs lead Lowell girls’ track team

Katie Chapman recorded three personal bests to lead the Lowell girls’ track effort Saturday at the Prefontaine Memorial track meet in Coos Bay.
Chapman was timed in 1:08.99 in the 400m, 2:43.57 in the 800m and 6:01.96 in the 1500m.
Audra Chapman threw the shot 25-1, high jumped 4-4 and pole vaulted 6-0.
Nature Letts ran the 100m (16.11), 200m (34.45) and threw the shot 23-2; Summer Huey ran the 100m (17.24), 200m (36.13) and 400m (1:22.95); and Mackenzie Smith long jumped (10-10 1/4), threw the javelin (57-0) and ran the 1500m (7:45.56).
Serena Yarborough long jumped 9-1 and Shari Beauerlen threw the javelin 38-4.
Nate Roat cleared 13-0 to finish fourth and set a personal best in the pole vault.
Other results were: Jeremiah Rodriguez, 100m (14.43) and 200m (29.05); Gabe Carroll, 200m (29.30) and 400m (1:07.47); Aidden Williamson, 800m (2:35.54); A.J. Devereaux, 1500m (5:16.21); Cody Brooks, 1500m (5:25.94) and high hurdles (21.88); Owen Chapman, shot put (30-1) and discus (78-7); Thomas Ward, discus (109-4) and javelin (120-8); Andy Kintzley, shot put (29-2); Bernie Anderson, javelin (57-11); Brian Lemon, long jump (18-1 3/4) and triple jump (37-10); and Taysian Williamson, long jump (16-11) and triple jump (32-4 3/4).
The Red Devils also competed in an earlier meet at Sweet Home.
Katie Chapman won the girls’ 800m (2:49.16) and 1500m (5:31.61) and placed third in the 300m hurdles (56.87).
Audra Chapman won the pole vault (6-6) to go with a fourth in the high jump (4-4) and a fifth in the 400m (1:10.03).
Smith finished seventh in the long jump (11-3 1/2) and the 400m relay team took fifth in 1:02.10.
Roat won the boys’ pole vault with a 12-6 clearance and Lemon won the triple jump at 38-10 1/2. Roat also ran 12.46 in the 100m while Lemon finished fourth in the intermediate hurdles in 49.41.
Also placing, Fisher Schescke took second (55.52) and Timmy Stratis seventh (1:01.91) in the 400m; Brooks took sixth in the 1500m (4:58.46) and fifth in the 3000m (11:08.63); Devereaux took third in the 3000m (10:54.49) and Aidden Williamson was eighth (11:34.11); Ward took third in the discus (102-0) and eighth in the javelin (125-11); Owen Chapman was eighth in the javelin (88-0); Brooks was fifth in the high jump (5-0); Stratis was sixth in the high jump (4-8); and Taysian Williamson took third in the triple jump (32-1 1/2).
