Barbara ‘Bobby’ Guy Oct. 8, 1928 – July 9, 2022

Barbara “Bobby” Guy passed away on July 9, 2022 in the company of her loving family. She was born Oct. 8, 1928 in Topeka, Kan. to Helen and Delbert Smith.

Bobby was one of two children; her brother John “Bud” McAndrews preceded her in death. When Bobby was barely 17 years of age, on Oct. 1, 1945, she married Ralph Nicholas Guy (preceded her in death). It was during that union that she had four children: Greta Sorrells (preceded her in death), Debbie Cantrell, Mona Wagoner & Teddy Guy.

In 1948 the family moved from Topeka to Westfir, Ore., where she spent her days as a loving mother. Then in 1961, Bobby and her family moved to Springfield, Ore., where she worked for Safeway. Shortly after that she started her own little business “The Snack Bar” where she took pride in her restaurant, welcoming all customers as if they were her own family.

Bobby had many passions, first and foremost her family; when she was with them that’s when she was the happiest! She was also the biggest Atlanta Braves baseball fan and she passed that passion on down the family tree. She enjoyed going to baseball games, especially if it was her son or grandson playing. Bobby also loved going to the coast which always included a stop at the casino. Bobby was a grandmother to six, a great-grandmother to 11 and a great-great grandmother to 11. She was loved by so many and will be truly missed!

Please join Bobby’s family for her celebration of life, 2 p.m, Saturday, Aug. 27, 2582 20th St., Springfield.
