Claudia Dale Taylor, aged 84, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on June 28, 2022, after a brief but serious illness. She was born Sept. 15, 1937, to Elizabeth Susan Hammond Taylor and Ernest Arthur “Bud” Taylor. Claudia is survived by her children, Katherine Jean Jones (Anne), Michael David Harris (Rochelle), Robert Allen Jones (Denice), and Richard Dean Jones (Laurie) as well as by her brother and sister, James and Judy Kisor. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly (Darrell), Lucretia, Amber, Amy (Jeff), Daniel, Tressie, Jacquie and Cory. She had 13 great-grandchildren. Claudia worked for many years as a leader and a trainer at Weight Watchers in both California and Oregon. She was a lifetime member, having obtained her goal weight. She became an administrative assistant for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality in 1986, and retired in 2003, and again in 2007. She leaves behind cherished friends from her workplaces. Claudia was a talented seamstress, knitter and crocheter. She loved to try new recipes and read mysteries. She enjoyed playing card games like Pinochle, Canasta, Yahtzee and Farkle. She was curious about the world and handed that adventurous spirit to her children. Her heart just hugged people into her life and kept them as friends. She always tried to make strangers smile. Her kindness was bound only by her resources. We will miss her unconditional love, advice, and support, her mischievous sense of humor, her voice and her laugh.
