Marilyn Ann (Aldinger) Lansbery: June 15, 1937 – April 19, 2022

Marilyn Ann Lansberry

Marilyn Ann (Aldinger) Lansbery, 84, of Springfield, Ore., died April 19, 2022, of age-related complications. A memorial service was held June 9 at Twin Rivers Church in Springfield.

Born June 15, 1937, to Frank and Esther (Benning) Aldinger in Iowa Falls, Iowa, Marilyn grew up a farmer’s daughter and entered nursing school at the University of Iowa after graduating high school in 1955. Following nursing school, Marilyn and two friends embarked upon an adventure and moved to Seattle, Wash., where they all worked as nurses. It was there that Marilyn met her future husband, Larry Lansbery, on a blind date and they were married Sept. 21, 1963.

After Larry’s discharge from the Navy, the couple relocated to his hometown, Springfield, where they raised their family and lived the next 58 years until Larry’s death in 2021. Marilyn loved children, was a childcare provider known as “Auntie” to many, served in children’s ministries at Twin Rivers Church and especially doted on her twin granddaughters. She and Larry enjoyed traveling and loved hosting family and friends for game nights and fellowship.

Marilyn is survived by daughters Lynette (Jeffrey) Edom, LeeAnn Lansbery, Lisa Lansbery and granddaughters Corinne Edom and Kathryn Edom. Services are in care of Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.
