Alfredo Lara Montes: Oct. 28, 1954 – May 29, 2022

Alfredo Lara Montes

Our beloved Alfredo, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away May 29, 2022 at the age of 67 after a brief battle with cancer. Alfredo was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully to God. Alfredo Lara Montes was born on Oct. 28, 1954, in Tiaxiaco, Oaxaca, Mexico.

Alfredo was part of a large family, having two sisters and six brothers. His mother passed away when he was only 11 years old and his father was later laid to rest when he was just 18. Alfredo was a devout Catholic his entire life. Alfredo moved to the United States in his early 20s. He worked farming fields and vineyards in California before moving to Oregon. For 20 years he worked in forestry; planting, thinning, and fighting forest fires. Later on, he worked for Country Coach RV manufacturing and took pride in never missing a day of work in 12 years. In every career, Alfredo was known for being a dedicated and hardworking employee. Alfredo enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking for his family and friends. Food was his love language that he was always eager to share. When he wasn’t cooking, Alfredo also enjoyed fixing cars, playing and watching soccer, taking long walks, and meeting new friends along the way. He was caring, happy, and generous. You could always count on Alfredo to help in any way possible.

Alfredo was a loving husband to his wife Maureen for 34 years. He was a devoted father to four children, Monica, Melissa, Lucas, and Maria, and the world’s greatest “BoBo” to seven grandchildren.
