Steven Richard Snell
Steven Richard Snell, 76, of Cottage Grove, Ore., passed away surrounded by family at his home in Oakridge on May 9, 2022. He was born in Cottage Grove on July 6, 1945 to parents Bill and Edna (Cherry) Snell.
Steve was a friend to all. After graduating Cottage Grove High School in 1963, he spent his career in the woods of Oregon and Alaska as a log truck driver. If he wasn’t out camping and hunting with friends and family you could find him washing and polishing his truck. It’s been said he had the cleanest truck on the road.
He is survived by his first wife Karen (Aanrud) McCrea of Cottage Grove, their two daughters, Karla (Chris Clark) Snell, of Cottage Grove and Sara (Steve) Tacker of Springfield; his second wife Diana (Wiles) Snell of Cottage Grove and their daughter Lacey (Ken) Geyer of Elkton; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his third wife Melody Snell and stepson Shane O’Brien, and survived by his stepdaughters Reva Archer of Reno, Nev., and Scottina Marino of Oakridge. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
