Alfred Owre III (Fred), age 67, of Cottage Grove passed away on May 15, 2022.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Brooks Owre, sons Eli (Jackie) Owre and Alexander (Amelia) Owre, his sister, Jane (Andy) Evancho, father-in-law Richard Hill, and his grandchildren Ryder, Storm, Reef, Atlas, Atti, Lucas, and Lila. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred Owre Jr. and Margaret Christene Owre.
Fred was born in Connecticut and was a graduate of Morro Bay High School. After moving to Cottage Grove, Fred spent his career ensuring the people of Cottage Grove and surrounding areas had access to medical insurance. He was a car enthusiast, and loved working on all cars – especially BMWs.
For the last three decades, he has enjoyed restoring a 1966 Mustang with his younger son, Alexander. If you ran into Fred in town, he would proudly boast about his two sons and daughter-in-law (Amelia) that graduated from the United States Naval Academy who continue to serve this country. Second to that, would be stories about his 7 fun and loving grandchildren. Fred had a love for craft beer, a good tri-tip, and this small town.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
