Ralph Edward Duhn: July 30, 1942 – April 24, 2022

Ralph Edward Duhn, 79, of Springfield, Ore., died on April 24, 2022. He was born in Monterey Park, Calif., on July 30,1942 to John Henry and Virginia Ann Miller Duhn. He moved to Oregon in 1970 and traveled extensively throughout the United States. 

A machinist by trade, he worked for Hurd’s Hardware in Harrisburg, Ore., for 25 years before returning to a life of travel. 

He was also an accomplished bowler, avid gardener, talented artist, string theorist and pyrotechnician as a proud member of Sky Jewelers. He lived a frugal life, had a deep appreciation for nature and left the smallest of footprints on his environment through his commitment to live a simple life.

He is survived by three sisters: Shirley Nagy of Springfield, Annette Peterson of Emmetsburg, Iowa, and Joyce Froisland, Emmetsburg; four brothers: Grant Duhn, Wallingford, Iowa, Wendell Duhn of Emmetsburg, Brian Duhn of Emmetsburg and James Duhn, Fort Dodge, Iowa; former wife Carol Kolseth Clark of Seminole, Fla.; former wife Jessica Fuller Dickinson, of Bend, Ore.; three children: Mark Duhn of Junction City, Ore., Eric Duhn of Bend and Rebecca Bond of Albany, Ore.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ralph was buried at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City, and the family will have a small private celebration of life at a later time. Memorials may be made to Pete Moore Hospice House through Cascade Health Foundation, 2650 Suzanne Way Suite 200, Eugene, OR 97408.
