Bellew nets All-State girls’ basketball honors

Karley Bellew was the only Lady Dawg honored when 3A All-State Girls’ Basketball teams were announced recently. GINI DAVIS – THE CRESWELL CHRONICLE

Senior forward Karley Bellew has been named to the 3A Girls’ Basketball Second Team All-State for the 2017-18 season. She was the only Creswell Lady Bulldog to earn an All-State nod.
Shawnie Spink, a senior guard for the state champion Dayton Pirates, was named 3A State Player of the Year, while Dayton Head Coach Scott Spink received 3A State Coach of the Year honors.
Joining Spink on the 3A All-State First Team are Salem Academy senior Sydney Brown, Salem Academy senior Aimee Smith, Rainier senior Desirae Hansen, Dayton senior Kalina Rojas and Blanchet Catholic junior Ana Coronado.
Joining Bellew on the All-State Second Team are Clatskanie freshman Shelby Blodgett, Nyssa senior Sailor Hartley, Vale senior Dallie Johnson, Lakeview senior Alex Conley and Coquille sophomore Morgan Baird.
Named to the All-State Third Team were Dayton junior Chloe Cisneros, Salem Academy junior Kirsten Koehnke, Clatskanie freshman Olivia Sprague, Amity junior Keeley Graham, Nyssa senior Kierra Hernandez and Blanchet Catholic junior Bailey Hittner.
Receiving All-State Honorable Mention were Amity senior Morgan Croxford, St. Mary’s junior Emma Bennion, Warrenton senior Tyla Little, Coquille junior Abbey Dieu, Colton senior Grace James and Pleasant Hill junior Victoria Lewis.
