Mary Arlys Parrett Hoover-McMaster passed away Feb. 4, 2022. She was born July 14, 1933, in Vinton, Iowa, to Charles and Grace Parrett.
She was preceded by her husband Jim McMaster, married for 10 years, and her first husband Don Hoover, married for 50 years. She is survived by brothers Bud and George Parrett; sister Betty Bray; daughters Mary Katherine Mercier, Ramona Walker and Kimberly Farrell; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mary graduated from Willamette High School in 1952 and received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Oregon. She was an elementary school teacher for many years with the Bethel School District before she retired.
Her interests included gardening and planting flowers, traveling, family get-togethers, hosting parties with lots of laughter and fun. She was a member of the River Valley Community Church. She enjoyed her time living on the Rogue River. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Lane Memorial Funeral Home, 5300 West 11th, Eugene, Ore., on Feb. 23 at 1:30 pm.
